Position Overview:
The Technical Configuration Engineer is responsible for staging, grading, cleaning and configuring of equipment at the Zones Configuration Facility.
The Technical Configuration Engineer additionally could be used as a technical resource for completing Solutions that are sold to our customers. The Technical Configuration Engineer must be willing to be flexible as evening and weekend work as well as domestic and European travel may occasionally be required.
This position requires regular weekend on-call availability, as part of the role’s ongoing responsibilities.
What you’ll do as the Technical Configuration Engineer:

- Working with the Zones Project Management during the Setup and Onboarding phase to ensure the service are setup in a seamless way as per customer requirements.
- Imaging and configuring devices before they are sent out to the Customer.
- Testing, cleaning and refurbishing incoming devices as per the defined Run Book and operational documents produced by the Project Management team.
- Grading devices based on condition and photographing them.
- Receiving requests for equipment via an online system.
- Completing checklists and emailing them to the correct people within SLA.
- Maintaining online systems that record inventory records and condition.
- Adhering to SLAs relating to the delivery of customer equipment.
- Hardware and Software Installations.
- Audit and Asset Tagging.
- Configuring and setting up devices as required (Laptops, Desktops, EPOS, Printers, Scanners, Handhelds etc.)
- Troubleshooting technical issues.
- Communicating to the Business and Clients where required.
- Maintaining internal “Configuration Department” stock – such as Customer asset labels, Consumables, Tools etc.
- The desktop environment and Windows deployments on PCs and laptops.
- Infrastructure support including Network and Servers.
- Hardware Support including Mobile Devices, Printers and Scanners.
- General Software Support including standard productivity software – i.e. MS Office, Acrobat etc. Asset Management.
What you will bring to the team:
- College level education preferred but not essential
- Excellent Technical skills: The role requires a diverse knowledge of IT systems, both hardware and software. We deal with a large range of systems, so the broader this knowledge, the better. Microsoft Windows is essential. Experience of MDT and/or Autopilot would be preferred. Laptop hardware maintenance (replacing keyboards, memory, hard drives) is also preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills: you must be able to troubleshoot complex problems. Thinking on your feet is a key factor in this new role.
- Experience: We will require at least 3 years of experience in an IT services organization or Helpdesk (at either 1st or 2nd line level). Experience of installations would be an advantage.
- Customer facing skills: We require excellent customer-facing skills as you will be interacting with our clients on a regular basis via email and phone calls. We want you to be an ambassador for our company.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES, ETC:
- CompTIA A+
- Microsoft qualifications or vocational IT qualifications are desirable
Qualified candidates can expect a salary range of € 40,000-45,000
